What our prices and predictions are, and what they aren't
Last updated 7 October 2026
Everything on Lotus Index — prices, price changes, Index values, predictions and articles — is general information about the Magic: The Gathering card market. It isn’t financial, investment, tax or legal advice, and it isn’t a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any card. Collectible card prices can fall as well as rise, sometimes sharply. Make your own decisions, and get professional advice where it matters.
Market prices come from third-party data, mainly Scryfall’s daily price feed, which in turn reflects marketplace prices such as Cardmarket’s. Your imported listings come from your own Cardmarket offers. We don’t control these sources, so prices can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong for a particular printing, finish, condition or language.
A card’s actual value depends on things a price feed can’t see: its exact condition, demand on the day, fees and shipping. A price on Lotus Index is not an offer to buy or sell at that price.
The Index value of your collection is an estimate built from the prices above and the details you or your imports provide. It isn’t an appraisal, and it isn’t suitable on its own for insurance, tax, inheritance or legal purposes.
Predictions and articles are opinions and models about possible future prices. They can be wrong, and past movements don’t guarantee future ones. Some pages show example content while features are still being built.
